Popular Nollywood actress, Adam Ameh, is about starting a new project that will kick start a new dawn in the educational system in her home state, Benue.
The new project, which has been tagged, ‘Take it to the Street’, is all about sharpening the cognitive skills and mental alertness of students in all secondary schools in Benue State. It is coming under her production outfit known as Adylad Productions.
Speaking exclusively to HVP on phone, the actress, who is known more for her role as Anita in ‘Domitilla’ and in others where she has also acted with humour, disclosed that apart from acting and other things which she does by the side, giving back to society has always something been runs through her veins, a passion which has seen her coming up with this latest project which she hopes will inject some level of seriousness in students when it comes to their studies.
The project ,’Take it to the Street’ will, among other set goals, ensure that seriousness, competitiveness and other objectives which drive students to excellence will be once again be revived in the educational system in Benue State.
The Nollywood diva also said that talent hunt cum reality show will be conducted in two different categories, one for all junior secondary schools, while the second part will also be for all senior secondary schools in the state, with scholarships running into millions of naira for the first, second and third prize winners in both categories.
When HVP inquired how she intends to foot the bills for such a huge project, Ada asserted that a benefactor, in the person of Ambassador Moses Oriri, CEO of Oriri Global Resources has shown that God can use upright men to touch the less-privileged in society. ‘And this is what this amiable gentleman has done for this project,’ Ada revealed.
While the project ‘Take it to the Street’ is being targeted at the less privileged in public schools in Benue State, Ada also disclosed that she is trying to bring in the state government into her plans and hopes that once this is done, the project will definitely touch lives of students whose parents cannot afford to send their kids to private schools.
On the mode of entry into the project, Ada said in order for intending students to show seriousness, a flat fee of a N100 will be used to buy the form that guarantees them entrance into the reality show and urged parents to encourage their children to show some level of concern as regards the show.
The show will finally take place before the end of the first quarter of 2010, and right now, according to her, serious preparations are going on to ensure a hitch free reality show.
